NSW OWNER-BUILDER COURSE
Does this course meet the NSW Office of Fair Trading (Service NSW) requirements?
Yes it does. We have been delivering educational training for NSW Fair Trading (Service NSW) since 2001.
When do I need to complete an owner-builder course?
The NSW Office of Fair Trading (Service NSW) requires all persons seeking to apply for an Owner-Builder Permit, where the total commercial value of works (labour and materials, inc. GST) exceeds $20,000 to provide proof of approved qualified training.
From 19th January 2021 - Present
Owner-builders need to provide evidence of training for the following compulsory units of competency:
- CPCCWHS2001 - Apply WHS Requirements, Policies And Procedures In The Construction Industry
- CPCCOM2001 - Read and Interpret Plans
- CPCCCM1011 - Undertake Basic Estimation and Costing
- CPCCOM1013 - Plan and Organize Work
- CPCCOM1014 - Conduct Workplace Communication
Absolute Education's NSW course contains the above compulsory units of training.
Mandatory Video Component
You are required to complete a short video of yourself completing a simple set of tasks that we will instruct you to do.
To complete the video component, you have 3 options:
1. PRE-RECORD yourself: Record yourself answering the questions and then send us the video file.

FILE-TRANSFER: We-Transfer/iCloud/OneDrive/DropBox, etc.
POST: USB Drive to PO Box 4306, North Curl Curl, NSW, 2099.
2. REAL-TIME with trainer: Please video-call 0418181815 Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, using one of the free apps (WHATSAPP/VIBER/MESSENGER/SKYPE).
3. IN-PERSON at our office: If it is convenient and close, you can come to our office to do the video together. We are located in Dee Why, NSW.

Once you finish the course.....
Upon satisfactory completion of the owner-builder and white-card courses, students will receive a Nationally Recognised "Statement of Attainment" with which they can apply to the NSW Office of Fair Trading (Service NSW) for their owner-builder permit.
Service NSW will issue the permit in person over the counter (or 72 hours if you apply online).
